In this video lesson, we will explore the concept of “Constitution” by discussing its definition, sources and features. We will then classify constitutions based on three different criteria: 1. Method of Codification – Written and Unwritten Constitution 2. Method of Amendment – Rigid and Flexible Constitution 3. System of Government – Unitary and Federal Constitution. We will also discuss each type of constitution’s features, merits and demerits. Additionally, we will analyse various case studies to see how these classifications describe the constitutions of different countries. Finally, we will review some standard (WAEC and JAMB) past questions to solidify our understanding of constitutions.
